D-DAY

Another segment of “The DuPont Show of the Week” commemorated the 18th Anniversary of D-Day, which turned the tide of World War II. Primarily composed of newsreel footage, the show featured the leaders and the men who fought in the war. Some footage had never been seen in the U.S., captured German film footage and that of the French Resistance Movement. Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Leader of the Armed Forces in Europe, was featured prominently in this show that aired one year after he stepped down from his two-term occupation as President of the United States.
