THE DON KNOTTS SHOW

After a successful turn as Barney Fife on “The Andy Griffith Show,” Don Knotts listened to rumors that the show was not going to last past its fifth season. He was offered a five-movie deal at Universal, which he took. After making the five pictures, he became the spokesperson for Dodge Trucks. From there he put his name on a new variety show, titled of course “The Don Knotts Show.” It was not broadly successful and lasted only one season.
